Inception
     30 years of excellence in nursing which is established in the year 1992 with the point of convergence on comprehensive preparation of nurses and continuation of odyssey towards Silver Jubilee year. The main objective is to concentrate on nursing education and research. The inception of the college is to fulfil the demand of nurses nationally and globally. It was started with the motto of preparing nurses to serve the needy people in the rural area. Hence it was established in the midst of villages. SCON is an evolving organization which will prepare competent professional graduate nurses for diverse health care delivery and leadership roles.

Chancellor SIMATS

Began his journey in education with an ambition to start a model dental college. He started Saveetha Dental College & Hospital in Chennai in 1988 and subsequently College of Nursing in 1992, College of Physiotherapy in 1993 and College of Occupational Therapy in 1998 .The service to the cause of education was extended to other fields by establishment of Saveetha Engineering College in 2001. He created the SIMATS Deemed University in 2005 and the rest is history.

Vice Chancellor

Prof. Dr. S. Suresh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, is a highly distinguished academician and researcher, with a proven track record of excellence in all aspects of his work. He has set his prime focus for Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS) and has a vision to make SIMATS - India’s pioneering university in the field academics and research, and to be a ‘beacon’ to the national and international research initiatives. He also aims to promote innovation in socially relevant research and create an environment that fosters research excellence. The primary objective of his mission is to encourage faculty members to explore new frontiers of knowledge and collaborate with research leaders worldwide. Additionally, he seeks to optimize resource utilization to promote a culture of research excellence across the university. His impressive research skills have led to the successful acquisition of over 40 research grants and funding, both nationally and internationally. He has achieved a remarkable feat by breaking the record for filing the maximum number of patents in a single day and week, as recognized by the prestigious India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records. Furthermore, his exceptional leadership skills have been evident in his ability to oversee and manage various administrative matters, ensuring that the institution operates at optimal levels of efficiency. Prior to SIMATS he served as a Pro Vice Chancellor for Research at Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research. With over a decade of experience as a Professor at the esteemed University Putra Malaysia, he has demonstrated exceptional teaching abilities and a passion for academic excellence. He holds a Doctoral degree in Microbiology from the prestigious University of Delhi. His overseas research exposure for the postdoctoral program were at prestigious institutions, including National Central University and National Taiwan University, Taiwan, where he has enhanced his expertise in the fields of yeast genetics, biomaterials and stem cells. To his credentials, he has published over 250+ research articles in high impact peer-reviewed international journals like Progress in Materials Science, Progress in Polymer Science, Trends in Biotechnology, Biomaterials etc. His research has made significant and robust contributions to the scientific community, greatly enhancing the understanding of complex areas of study. Presently, his team is working diligently with a clear futuristic vision to develop stem-cell-based therapy for various human diseases. Through his innovative approach, he strives to contribute to the advancement of medical science and the betterment of human health.


Prof.Dr.Barathi

Principal

Professor Dr.Barathi holds a doctorate in Nursing, University Professor with over 26 years of involvement with Clinical, Research and Teaching at the college level. Recognized record of publication in International Journals. Pledge to help college students in building up their maximum capacity in their investigations. Devoted to achieve college projects and effort occasions that help in advance learning and backing the Community.

Wide involvement with training clinical attendant, Sound information on intense and basic consideration in Midwifery care services & administrations, profound information on clinical settings. Good comprehension of modern technology in nursing instructive arrangement and change, Proficient with instructional strategies, ability to show student with assorted foundations and necessities, Strong oral communicator and speaker. 

 

Prof. Parimala.L

Vice Principal

Professor Parimala.L is the Chair and Head of the department of Nursing Foundation. Parimala. has a B.Sc. in Nursing(1991) from University of Madras Chennai, College of Nursing, Madras Medical College, M.Sc.Nursing (2010) from Saveetha University, Chennai and pursuing Ph.D under SIMATS Prior to entering academia, percolated as a clinical Nurse at Apollo Hospitals Chennai. She has wide experience in teaching clinical nurse programs, sound knowledge of acute and critical care services, profound knowledge of medical and surgical clinical settings, familiarity with student success strategies, good understanding of current trends in nursing educational policy and reform, and Proficient with instructional methodologies. Her experience also extends to organize and develop Nursing Foundation Department and development of teaching protocols and other academic innovations. Strong philosophy of teaching, and knowledge of many different methods to motivate students to develop their expertise in specific areas. Dedicated partner to university programs and outreach events that help promote learning and support the community. She has officiated distinct designations in the Saveetha College of Nursing over 28 years and holds the two position as Vice Principal

She is a passionate teacher and has over 32 publications in various Scopus-indexed journals to her credit, copyright and is also a guide for undergraduate and Post graduate Research activities. She is the recipient of prestigious awards from the distinguished national and international organizations. She has presented multiple presentations both in national and international platforms. She has chosen as Adoc Inspector by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi, and Tamilnadu Nurses and Midwifes council Chennai.
